Here at St. John's, the Cub Pack
started in May 1974 with three sixes totaling eighteen boys, one cub scout
leader and one assistant leader.
In St. Catherine there are four
districts - North, South, West and Central. St. John's Primary Cub Pack
falls in the central district.
The present pack has a membership
of 165 boys and two leaders on shit one and 125 boys and two leaders on shift
two. There are boys in the pack who are over the age of cubbing and should
be in a scout troop but because of few volunteers they have to remain in the cub
pack.
The boys are very interested in
their motto and they try to live up to their promise and obey the law. At
St. John's the boys are engaged in activities to better their school and
community. They participate in activities both at the local and national
level. Such activities include public meetings at Kings House, church and
other parades, boy's Week at St. John's, devotions at school, hikes, camping.
competitive games, visiting children's homes and children who are at the Spanish
Town Hospital.
The boys are proud of their scarves
and they wear them with pride. Scouting provides a lot of fun and the boys
at St. John's are enjoying their cubbing.
